Drug Advice Centre
The Drug Advice Centre exists to reduce the risks from drug use to individuals, families and communities.
We are happy to help in a range of ways: for some, information about the effects or risks of drugs or our services is enough, while for those who need it, more intensive support to achieve important change is offered. We will provide support for people who want to stop or reduce risks or for those who still want to weigh up the pros and cons of tackling the problem.
Drop-in Service
The drop-in service is primarily provided from our offices at 96 New Walk in Leicester City Centre; however we do operate a number of outreach sites around the County.
For many people this is simply a chance to get some information and advice from a drugs worker; however, this can then lead on to a drugs assessment. A drugs assessment can lead to referral to referrals to other services such as the NHS Community Drugs Team for prescribing services, ongoing support through casework or entrance to the Structured Day Care programme or referral to our Community Care Team to apply for residential rehabilitation.
At 96 New Walk, the drop-in runs on Monday and Wednesday - Friday from 9am - 3pm and Tuesdays 12.30pm - 3pm.
These services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The service is free & confidential.
Telephone Support
The Drug Advice Centre also offers a telephone helpline for anyone wanting support, advice or information. The helpline runs from 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday and you can contact it on .
Acupuncture Clinic
The Acupuncture Clinic is available for anyone affected by their own, or someone else's alcohol use and can be very useful. Click on the above link for the current clinic times and more information.
Needle Exchange
