Needle Exchange
The Needle Exchange programme allows drug users to reduce the risk of any diseases or infections and to receive confidential advice about their injecting habits. It also helps make our community safer by disposing of used needles.
Trained workers from the Drug Advice Centre operate the Needle Exchange. It is open to all injecting drug users and offers both free sterile needles and injecting paraphernalia (such as Citric, VitC, cups & sterile water). The Needle Exchange workers will also offer confidential harm-reduction and safer-injecting advice to all clients and can safely dispose of used needles.
The Needle Exchange runs as a drop-in service from our main office at 96 New Walk in Leicester City Centre and is open at the following times:-
Monday 9am – 4.30pm
Tuesday 11.30am – 4.30pm
Wednesday 9am – 4.30pm
Thursday 9am – 4.30pm
Friday 9am – 4pm
We also run Needle Exchange Outreach sites around Leicestershire from Coalville, Market Harborough, Hinckley and the New Futures Project. If you would like any information about these then please contact us for more information.
